Welcome Message from Co-Chairpersons
Further to the announcement at the Closing Ceremony of the Asian Family Summit held in August 2018 in Hong Kong, it is our great pleasure to invite you to the 6th CIFA Regional Symposium to be held on 25 to 27 November, 2020 in Taiwan. The Symposium will provide yet another excellent opportunity for sharing and exchange of knowledge and experience in policy formulation, researches, good practices and innovative initiatives on family issues, as well as strengthening the linkage and fostering closer collaboration among various regions/countries to enhance family well-being in Asia, This Symposium will be co-hosted by the Consortium of Institutes on Family in the Asian Region (CIFA) and the National Taiwan University Children and Family Research Center Sponsored by CTBC Charity Foundation (CFRC), together with many co-organisers and supporting organisations.
To sustain the momentum created during the Asian Family Summit in mapping out An Agenda For Action in Asia to echo the international efforts in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Agenda For Sustainable Development as promulgated by the United Nations, we have chosen “Family First: Supporting Asian Families in the Era of Inclusive Growth” as its main theme, with a number of sub-themes surrounding significant issues faced by nowadays families in Asia. We firmly believe that by actively involving in the Sympoisum, either as a speaker or a participant, to share expertise and experiences, and to meet like-minded people who share the mission of “Converging Professional Wisdom for Family Well-Being”, we will be strengthened and aspired, in close partnership, to strive for more effective policies and innovative measures to cope with different family challenges, enhance family functioning and contribute to the global effort in actualizing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
Mark your diary and make arrangements for attending this important regional event. We look forward to meeting you again in Taipei in November 2020!
